The ODIN Works 10.5 416R Stainless Steel ULTRAlite Barrel comes standard with a .223 Wylde chamber so .223 and 5.56 NATO ammo are both gonna run, a carbine length gas system, M4 feed ramps for reliable feeding, a Button-Rifled 1:8 twist rate (meaning the bullet makes one full rotation every 8 inches while inside the barrel), 1/2×28 TPI thread pattern to fit all standard AR muzzle devices, and one of the lightest cuts possible on a barrel. This all comes together to provide you with a great 15.5 oz hand-lapped barrel! Let me say that again, This barrel only weighs 15.5 Ounces… just under a pound! As if all that wasn’t enough, this awesome little 10.5 ODIN Works barrel comes with a tunable Stainless Steel Gas Block. A tunable Gas Block allows you the capability to tune your AR for various types of shooting. You can shoot suppressed or un-suppressed, you can tune your AR to operate as an SBR, you can tune it to shoot rounds with less powder or vice versa, you also have the option of trying out any special reloaded ammo you did yourself, among other options.

NOTE: The .223 Wylde is a mix of the 5.56×45 NATO external chamber measurements and lead angle, but also utilizes the tighter .224 free bore diameter of the .223 Remington cartridge for better accuracy potential. As we all know, you could not fire 556 NATO ammo in a .223 Rem chamber due to the pressure differential and slight chamber size differences. The .223 Wylde solves this issue and gives the shooter the best of both worlds.

NOTE: 416R is a Crucible brand steel and it was formulated specifically for barrels. Most types of steel, including normal 416SS are not designed to be used in freezing temperatures. But this steel was designed to operate in arctic temperatures, up to -40F. 416R also has greater accuracy potential than normal 416SS and 4150 steel due to its ability to take highly defined rifling and machining cuts. 416R Stainless steel has a 12-14% Chromium content. Generally any steel with 13% or better Chromium is considered Stainless, so 416R could be considered non-stainless depending upon batch. Corrosion is possible with almost any steel, stainless or otherwise, just be sure to take good care of your barrel.
