Contrary to popular belief, two-piece quad rail handguards are not disappearing from the market and still offer many benefits like full length picatinny rails that provide a solid mounting option for lights and grips. However, where this AR-15 handguard really shines is when used with M4 carbines with the front sight gas block arrangement. This quad rail wraps around the front sight post and allows you to attach lights and IR lasers much closer to the muzzle to prevent the barrel from blocking some of the light and creating a shadow. Because it is a two-piece design, installation is a breeze as it uses the standard barrel nut and can be attached without removing the gas block. It is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and uses grade 8 bolts to lock to the barrel nut. If you just bought a standard AR-15 carbine and you are already tired of the cheap plastic M4 handguard, its time to upgrade to the C4 rail system.
